Packaging / Design
A rather simple design but the original artwork still holds up as a really good choice. The slipcase is quite thick and sturdy, and the small booklet folds out to reveal a nice little orange poster.
Disc contents / Extras
This is one of the better releases for this film so far, both for being completely uncut and also including a number of deleted scenes and a feature length audio commentary.
There are however a few other editions out there featuring pretty much identical specs but so far I havn't seen one that adds anything new as far as the discs are concerned.
EASTER EGGS
On disc 1, go to the interviews and highlight the up arrow. Now press up on your remote control to see a clip reguarding Porno - the (supposedly) upcoming sequal to Trainspotting. (01m 53s)
On disc 2, go to the interviews and play the Danny Boyle interview. When Danny makes a reference to an article that Muriel Gray wrote, there's a hidden button. If you press enter at this time, it will bring up four articales and reviews from 1996 (02m).

Worth mentioning: only this R2 UK, R2 NL (fixed subsequent pressings only!) and R4 Definitive Editions feature full bitrate DTS audio while all the other releases feature half bitrate audio.
As for the missing booklet/poster, it was indeed omitted from subsequent pressings of the UK release.
Hmmm. Never heard about that happening. Might have been re-issued without the booklet but I honestly don't know.
I just bought this edition. It was brand new and still sealed with plastic. But when I opened it, there was no poster/booklet... You know anything about that?
