This steelbook comes with some fnac exclusive artwork that hasn't really been used on any other edition I know off. All in all an OK looking steelbook but I think that there are atleast a couple of other editions out there that have the extra edge over this release as far as the packaging goes.
The special features are very well made and cover a lot of ground in the time they have. Of course, one would love to see more but it's still comes through as a pretty decent special edition. Granted there's a lot of footage that keeps coming back through out the various featurettes but on the whole it's still pretty informative.
The first 2 disc are just the same as any other 2 disc editions on the market and doesn't really offer anything out of the ordinary, but the third disc comes with a completely exclusive documentary entitled 300: A Storyteller's Legend.
This documentary is done much in the same style as all the other featurettes and follows the same path of re-using a few bits and pieces that we've allready seen but it also adds a few brand new segments which help enrich the experience.
Still, even with the exclusive documentary (which is all english but comes with forced spanish subtitles) there's not enough of extras to make this release stand out to much above any other special edition on the market. But if you're realy a fan, this edition holds the most extras so far and thus it might be the right choice to go for (if you can find it).
All the menus on disc 1 and 2 are in english.
On disc 1, go to the special features and highlight the audio commentary. Now press up to highlight a red blood spatter marker. Press enter to see a short featurette about how they translated the graphic novel into film. This clip also shows some original test footage that was used to help get the project off the ground when it was still uncertain if the film would be made or not.
This is the ONLY edition to include the Storyteller's Legend documentry found on disc 3. This release was only available through Spanish Fnac stores and quickly sold out. The artwork of the steelbook is also Fnac exclusive and differs to that of the regular steelbook release.
Discs 1 and 2 are encoded R2/R4/R5.
