Packaging / Design

For a circular case, this is one big ass tin! (roughly 27,5 cm in diameter and 6 cm thick). The inside comes with a small number of foam-pieces wich allow an excellent padding and a great way to story the dvds without having to worry. The tin i slightly embossed but the edges are so smoothed out that the embossing is hardly noticable on the SAW-logo (The "Collector's Edition" embossing is a lot ruffer but probably the same depth when you get out your advanced depth-measuring gear).

As for the regular case-designs we get to 2 clear keepcase with no printing or inlays whatsoever (!!!) and 2 transparent plastic slipcovers that carry all the artwork. This is a really nice design and what's even nicer is that they've really gone out on a limb here and just dopped the storyline from the individual covers completely (not counting the UMD cover). This sums it up to a very uniquie and stylish design even though it carries little reference (in terms of memorabelia / replica feeling) to the movie itself.

I compared the individual covers for the included editions for Saw and Saw 2 to those of the previously released editions in Sweden and though they look simular, the cover art has been cleaned up a great deal. The previous release of Saw (R2SE) is labeled "2-disc edition" while the edition included in this set is labeled "2-disc collector's edition".

It should also be noted that there's very little Swedish presented on the cover art which is a big plus (not the most common for swedish sets).

To summarise; It seems like the sticker on the back of the tin box lists the OLD FEATURES (found on the previos R2SE-releases) but all in all, this is a very good looking set and I'm sure just the size of it will impress even the pickiest of collectors.

Disc contents / Extras

As mentioned in the sidenotes, the specs listed on the back of the tin box are not correct at all (see image number 3). But the specs listed in the list on the left ARE - These specs have been verified by me personally by going through the menus. But if you want me to check this set further, let me know and I'll answer any specific questions to the best of my ability.

Furthermore, it appears that the 2-disc version of Saw included with this LE tin is NOT the same edition as the previously released 2-disc edition (in Sweden). The earlier edition is said to have included both cuts of the film, but this re-released edition only includes the uncut version. However, the special features for this edition are actually far superior to the original two disc set so you're better off with this box either way.

So now the score should be settled; the 2-disc version of Saw included in this LE tin is NOT the same as the previous release, it's a totally different set and doesn't seem to be available on it's own.

The 1-disc of Saw 2 that's included in this set appears very simular to the previously released editon and the only real difference (appart from the cleaned up cover art), seems to be the adding of a Conceptual Art Gallery (it's possible this appeared on the old release as well but it was never listed on the old cover). All in all a well packed set which can be desribed as a nice blend between R1US and R2UK. Pretty much the best of both worlds, but Saw 2 is sadly just the regular cut and not the slightly extended version.

Sidenotes

This set comes with very messed up extra features (on Saw - the first film) - as in, the stuff listed on the tin box is not really what's inside (it seems they've listed the specs for the old 2 disc release). For instance; the cover reports on Saw including a theatrical trailer and sneak previews for other films, which is not true. However, the messed up specs are actually both good and bad, so please see full extras listed above for correct info.

Furthermore: THIS EDITION INCLUDES 1 VERSION OF THE FIRST SAW FILM (NOT TWO!) - PLAYING TIME IS 99min 4sec which is the FULLY UNCUT VERSION!

Hello, it would be possible for you to find me this edition and send them to Spain? If you're a Spanish edition would reach an agreement. Do you think? A greeting.
